    About FiB 2024

    Frontiers in Biophysics (FiB) is a one-day interdisciplinary conference organized by students, which brings together a diverse set of perspectives and voices from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. FiB seeks to bridge gaps between those passionate about advancing the frontiers of biophysics and quantitative biology, welcoming students and researchers from such diverse fields as physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, and engineering.

    We welcome participants at any stage of their career, from undergraduate students to experienced researchers. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with professionals and researchers from various backgrounds, cultivating a rich environment for interdisciplinary collaboration.

    Presentation abstract submission deadline: June 12th
    Poster abstract submission deadline: June 21st

    Registration deadline: June 28th

     

    Presentation Format and Guidelines:

    Talks: 10 minutes + 2 minutes for questions

    Posters: Present your work in our 90-minute poster session. Posters can be up to 36"x48" in size, and both portrait and landscape orientations are welcome.

    William Bialek 

    William Bialek is a theoretical biophysicist and professor at Princeton University and the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center. His work in biophysics spans a remarkable range, from the application of information theory principles in understanding neural information encoding to conducting insightful studies on embryonic development and the collective behaviors of bird flocks. Author of the book 'Biophysics: Searching for Principles,' Bialek has been recognized for his contributions to science education and has received prestigious awards, including the Swartz Prize for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience and the Max Delbruck Prize.
